Mixed emotions on this trip. Been excited all day about going in the big one - the River Sheaf. I packed the Peli case with the SLR and the new bright lights and headed off down the big one.

Yorkshire’s Secret Underground Vault

Once upon a time, we went exploring and found a 1940’s underground vault.
I mean there you are one minute wondering down an underground drainage passage, admiring the brickwork and the pondlife and the suddenly up above you there is a beckoning climb. Well - who wouldn’t want to see what was up there?

Greenham Common was the site of a massive US air base in the second half of the 20th century. It housed the Strategic Air Command bombers and then the notorious BGM 109G Cruise Missiles.

Rotherham Civil Defence Bunker
