Yorkshire’s Secret Underground Vault

Once upon a time, we went exploring and found a 1940’s underground vault.
I mean there you are one minute wondering down an underground drainage passage, admiring the brickwork and the pondlife and the suddenly up above you there is a beckoning climb. Well - who wouldn’t want to see what was up there?

Greenham Common, Cruise Missile Airbase - Berkshire

Greenham Common was the site of a massive US air base in the second half of the 20th century. It housed the Strategic Air Command bombers and then the notorious BGM 109G Cruise Missiles.

Rotherham Civil Defence Bunker

This 1950s Civil Defence Bunker Has now been levelled.
I thought it would be in the best interests of recording the place to get my photos uploaded. It was a monument to the cold war and really had a lot of information.
