Firth Vickers Power House - The Sheffield Time Capsule

January 26th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I spied this place  in October 2006, this was before I knew that Dweeb had already explored it. Its looks like a large black shed on the other side of Meadowhall. Since Dweebs visit in July 2006, this place has been locked down and nobody to me knowledge has been back.

Middlewood Clock Tower

January 18th, 2008 · No Comments

This was all that there was left of Middlewood Asylum and this was even being redone inside when I visited. The clockfaces were long gone, but there was a wonderful spiral staircase and the clear blue sky meant I was able to get some excellent high contrast shots.

Get Carter Car Park, Gateshead

January 10th, 2008 · 1 Comment

This car park is one of those iconic 1960s buildings made of concrete that is both adored and abhorred! Buildings like these seem all to rarely to be saved. It was designed by Owen Luder.

I wanted to visit it empty and desolate, before it got pulled down (due February 2008). I [...]
